The Promise of Spring

One of the many amazing things about Minnesota is that you never know what kind of weather you’re going to wake up to or even have to deal with through out the day. You can be walking around in the sun shiny park and in an hour you may find yourself rushing toward the nearest shelter from the rain. So on Tuesday night we went to bed with a bit of a chill in the air and the next day we ended up in the high 70′s.  Today we hit the 80′s. Which begs the question: Is it safe to change out our clothes yet? Seriously. Around here you never know. I think I might just chance it.

I love Spring. It’s my favorite season of the year. The weather slowly begins to warm up (usually), the plants start to bud and the world turns from brown to green. Everything seems brighter somehow and suddenly so much is possible and you can’t help but look forward to your days after the cold and dark of winter.

Every project seems not only something you can take on, but that you can even complete. You start to think of the things you’d like to spend time on if you didn’t have all these other things. And you  start to think of ways to make some of those other things go away so you can change your focus.

Ah… the promise of Spring.

This year it’s even better than any other year because of  Little Lass. Last year she was so little but this year she’s doing so much more. She is the epitome of what spring time means to me, and I’m looking forward to exploring the season with her.

Of course this also adds another dimension to my project list because she is my main project. There is some much I want to do with her and for her that prioritizing is a necessity. This is going to be harder than it sounds.

What does spring mean to you?

  1. Winter says:

Well I find spring to be particularly vitalizing. I find myself moving more, dancing and singing at random times and I have the general need to “do something”. This spring so far has been a little crazy weather wise but that’s ok because it kinda fits my personality :) I am finally feeling like I can move forward on some projects that I have been putting off for a while and the ideas are starting to flow again. I am a true lover of fall and winter for the meditative peace I find within those seasons but spring and summer have a way of bringing out the teenager in me, a side effect my husband takes full advantage of! So I am ready, SPRING here I come!

  2. Aw, this was a really nice post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to make a very good article… but what can I say… I hesitate a whole lot and never manage to get anything done.
